KHYRPUR: A horrific traffic accident on the National Highway near Tando Masti in Khairpur district, Sindh, claimed the lives of 11 people.
According to details, a high-speed passenger coach collided with a trailer while attempting to overtake, resulting in the deaths of 11 passengers and injuries to 10 others. Among the deceased were the bus driver and conductor.
Rescue sources reported that all bodies and the injured were shifted to Civil Hospital Khairpur.
The ill-fated bus was traveling from Punjab to Karachi.
Meanwhile, the Inspector General of Police Sindh directed the SSP Khairpur to rush police to the accident site.
The IG also ordered immediate assurance of rescue and relief activities at the scene and surrounding areas.
It is worth noting that just a day earlier, a major crash occurred near Kathore, where a speeding passenger bus veered into the wrong lane and collided with an oil tanker, involving several other vehicles.
That incident claimed 13 lives, with people falling from a passenger van’s roof onto the road below after the impact.
