AHMEDABAD: An Italian media report has revealed that the plane crash in Ahmedabad, India, occurred due to the pilot’s alleged intentional actions.
According to the Italian media report, Commander Captain Sumit Sabharwal reportedly switched off the fuel switches himself.
The report states that Captain Sabharwal had been suffering from depression for about a month before the crash.
Preliminary investigation reports and black box data have ruled out any mechanical failure as a possible cause.
Another report claims that Air India offered financial compensation to the victims’ families on the condition that they would not pursue legal action.
It is recalled that an Air India aircraft crashed immediately after takeoff from Ahmedabad Airport in 2025, resulting in the deaths of 260 people.
