ANF Seizes 1.2 Tons of Hashish Worth $66 Million in Gwadar

GWADAR: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) seized 1.2 tons of high-quality hashish and arrested two suspects in a major operation against an international drug-smuggling network.

ANF spokesperson said the raid was based on intelligence inputs.

Authorities had received information that an international group, led by smuggler Ishaq Baloch, was transporting large quantities of drugs from Panjgur to Turbat. The drugs were to be moved via coastal routes and smuggled overseas.

ANF stopped a suspicious truck on the Panjgur–Turbat National Highway (M-8) and conducted a search. Hidden compartments in the vehicle contained 1,200 kilograms (1.2 tons) of hashish. Two suspects were arrested on the spot.

Officials estimate the seized drugs are worth approximately $66.15 million on the international market. Initial investigations revealed the drugs were smuggled from Afghanistan into Pakistan and were to be exported to Gulf countries, Yemen, and Tanzania via fast fishing boats from the coastal areas of Gwadar and Pasni.

ANF registered cases against the arrested suspects under the Anti-Narcotics Act. Raids are ongoing to apprehend the group’s ringleader, Ishaq Baloch, and other members.
