PCB and ICC's long meet continues amid strain

Lahore: Meeting Between ICC Deputy Chairman Khwaja Imran and PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi Continues for Over Four Hours

Lahore: The meeting between ICC Deputy Chairman Khwaja Imran and PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has been ongoing for more than four hours.

According to PCB sources, a break for dinner was taken during the meeting.

Sources state that the Pakistan Cricket Board has maintained the position that rectification of the injustice done to Bangladesh is the most important issue. If the grievances with Bangladesh are addressed, the negotiations will succeed. Whether the Pakistan-India World Cup match takes place or not is a secondary matter.

Sources further added that all three parties are making tireless efforts to make the talks fruitful.

Meanwhile, sources report that PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi clearly told the ICC representative that the decision not to play against India was not that of the board but of the government.

In response, the ICC Deputy Chairman requested Mohsin Naqvi to speak to the government again on this matter.

The PCB Chairman has assured that he will contact Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif once more regarding the issue.
