Pakistan to begin Its World Cup journey tomorrow

Colombo: The 2026 T20 World Cup gets underway tomorrow, with Pakistan kicking off their campaign against the Netherlands in their opening match, while hosts India will face the United States.

However, worrying news has emerged for Pakistani cricket fans. Weather experts warn that tomorrow’s match is also at risk of being affected by rain.

According to the Sri Lanka Meteorological Department’s forecast, there is a high probability of rain on Saturday, which could impact the Pakistan vs Netherlands fixture.

Earlier, the Pakistan vs Ireland match was completely washed out due to rain.

Meanwhile, the PCB continues to boycott the match against India on government instructions.

If the boycott proceeds, Pakistan will forfeit two points and suffer a major setback in net run rate right from the start.

In such a scenario, qualifying for the next round would require Pakistan to win all their remaining matches.

But if tomorrow’s game is also abandoned due to rain, it will become extremely difficult for Pakistan to keep their World Cup campaign alive beyond the group stage.
