Australia suffers another blow ahead of World Cup

Australia suffers another blow of World Cup

ISLAMABAD: According to Cricket Australia, fast bowler Josh Hazlewood has been ruled out of the T20 World Cup as he has not fully recovered his fitness.

Selector Tony Dodemaide stated that the team was hopeful Hazlewood would regain full fitness by the Super 8 stage, but he still requires more time to recover completely.

Tony Dodemaide added that they are not announcing a replacement player immediately, as they already have sufficient bowlers available for the initial matches.

It is worth noting that Josh Hazlewood is the second major Australian player to miss the tournament due to injury, following captain Pat Cummins, who was earlier ruled out for the same reason.

The Australian team is placed in Group B in the T20 World Cup.

They will begin their campaign on February 11 against Ireland, and for this opening match, spinner Adam Zampa has been declared fully fit.
