PSL 11: Franchises Announce List of Retained and Released Players

KARACHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Wednesday confirmed that five franchises of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11 have released the list of their retained players. Multan Sultans, however, chose not to retain any member from their previous squad.

According to the PCB, all franchises except Islamabad United retained four players each. Islamabad United retained three players. The two new franchises, Sialkot Stallions and Hyderabad, will announce their retentions by February 7, 2026.

Defending champions Lahore Qalandars retained three-time PSL-winning captain Shaheen Shah Afridi in the Platinum category and Abdullah Shafiq in the Diamond category. Zimbabwean all-rounder Sikandar Raza remained with the team in the Gold category, while PSL 10 emerging player Mohammad Naeem was retained in the Silver category.

Quetta Gladiators retained mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed in Platinum, Osman Tariq in Diamond, PSL 10 standout Hasan Nawaz in Gold, and left-handed batsman Shamil Hussain in Emerging category.

Peshawar Zalmi retained one of the league’s top run-scorers and centurions, Babar Azam, in Platinum. Sufyan Muqeem (Diamond), Abdul Samad (Gold), and fast bowler Ali Raza (Emerging) also remain with the team.

Islamabad United retained captain Shadab Khan in Platinum, marking his ninth year with the franchise. Fast bowler Salman Arshad (Gold) and American wicket-keeper batsman Andres Gaus (Silver) also secured spots on the team.


Karachi Kings retained top-performing bowler Hasan Ali in Platinum. Mohammad Abbas Afridi (Diamond), Khushdil Shah (Gold), and Saad Baig (Emerging) also remain part of the franchise.

Multan Sultans confirmed that they will not retain any players for PSL Season 11.
