Australian captain to join PSL 11

ISLAMABAD:  The new Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise, Sialkot Stallions, has announced the inclusion of former Australian captain Steve Smith in their squad for the 11th edition of the PSL.

Sialkot Stallions confirmed Steve Smith’s signing through social media. This season will mark his first appearance in the Pakistan Super League.

Steve Smith has represented Australia in 67 T20 International matches, scoring 1,094 runs, including five half-centuries.

Earlier, Sialkot Stallions had appointed former Australian wicketkeeper-batter Tim Paine as the team’s head coach. Tim Paine played 35 Test matches and 35 One Day Internationals for Australia and also captained the national team in the Test format.

It is worth noting that the 11th season of the Pakistan Super League will be played from March 26 to May 3.
