Balochistan: 7-Day Anti-Polio Campaign Begins Today

Quetta: The anti-polio vaccination campaign in Balochistan is set to commence today. According to sources, the national anti-polio drive begins across the province today and will continue for seven days.

During the campaign, 11,000 teams will administer polio drops to children under five years of age. In total, approximately 2.6 million children are targeted to receive the polio vaccine.

It is noteworthy that no polio case has been reported in Balochistan over the past 15 months.

On the other hand, the anti-polio vaccination campaign has also begun in Sindh. Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah formally inaugurated the drive.

Speaking on the occasion, he stated: “Eradicating polio — this deadly disease — from Sindh is our mission.”

He emphasized that the World Health Organization has clearly stated there is no disease caused by the polio vaccine.

CM Murad Ali Shah added: “Every country in the world has already eliminated polio.

Only one polio case remains in Pakistan and Afghanistan combined.

This is the moment for us to fight and uproot this disease once and for all.”
