According to police, the incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Manjho Shori Police Station in the Rupa branch area of Goth Allah Bakhsh, where a woman and her alleged companion were killed in a shooting linked to claims of so-called “blackmail/illicit relations.”
The attackers managed to flee the scene after the incident.

After completing legal formalities, the bodies were handed over to the heirs.
A case has been registered, and efforts are underway to trace and arrest the suspects.
Honour killings in Pakistan refer to the murder of a person, usually a woman, by family members or relatives for allegedly bringing “dishonour” to the family.
Common reasons cited include marrying against family wishes, choosing a partner, refusing an arranged marriage, or even being a victim of sexual assault.
These killings are rooted in patriarchal norms, social pressures, and outdated cultural practices.
Despite laws criminalizing honour killings, the practice persists, often due to weak law enforcement, delayed justice, and social acceptance in some communities.
Human rights organizations continue to call for stronger legal measures, awareness campaigns, and societal change to protect victims and prevent such crimes.
