MANSEHRA: In a brutal attack stemming from an ongoing relationship feud, armed assailants stormed a house in Mansehra and opened indiscriminate fire, killing three siblings and leaving a child wounded, police confirmed on Sunday.
According to local authorities, the attackers forced their way into the residence and unleashed a hail of bullets, targeting the family over a long-standing personal dispute. The victims, identified as three brothers and sisters living in the same household, died on the spot before help could arrive.
A minor child present at the scene sustained injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where his condition is reportedly stable, officials added.
Police have registered a case against nine individuals in connection with the massacre, including two women believed to have played a role in orchestrating or facilitating the attack. “We have named all nine suspects in the First Information Report, and multiple raids are being conducted across the region to apprehend them,” a senior police officer told reporters.
The incident mirrors a disturbing pattern of honor-and relationship-related violence in the province, with similar shootings recently reported in Lahore and Narowal. Authorities have urged citizens to resolve disputes through legal channels rather than taking the law into their own hands.
“We will not spare anyone involved in this heinous crime,” the officer added, assuring that forensic evidence and witness statements are being thoroughly examined.
The bodies have been shifted to a local morgue for post-mortem, and funeral prayers are expected to be held later today amid heightened security in the area.
