PCB Names Women’s Squads for South Africa Tour

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the women’s One-Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 International (T20I) squads for the upcoming tour of South Africa.

The tour will begin on February 10 in Potchefstroom. Pakistan will play three T20Is and three ODIs during the tour.

Fatima Sana will lead Pakistan in both formats. The PCB said the tour forms a key part of preparations for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup scheduled for June 2026.

Aliya Riaz, Ayesha Zafar, Gull Feroza, Muneeba Ali, Nashra Sandhu, Natalia Pervaiz, Rameen Shamim, Sadia Iqbal, Sadiqa Ameen and Tasmia Rubab feature in both squads.

Uncapped batter Saira Jabeen and right-arm fast bowler Hamna Bilal earned their first call-ups to the T20I squad.

Openers Ayesha Zafar and Gull Feroza, left-arm pacer Tasmia Rubab and wicketkeeper-batter Najiha Alvi were named in the 15-member ODI squad. None of them featured in the previous ODI World Cup squad.

Diana Baig, Najiha Alvi, Sadaf Shams and Syeda Aroob Shah were selected only for the ODI squad. Hamna Bilal, Saira Jabeen, Tuba Hassan and Aimen Fatima were included only in the T20I squad.

Former Pakistan fast bowler Wahab Riaz will serve as team mentor on the tour. He will work with an experienced coaching staff, including Imran Farhat as batting coach, Omid Asif as fast bowling coach, Abdul Rauf Rahman as spin bowling coach and Abdul Majeed as fielding coach.

The PCB said a training camp will begin on January 1 at the Hanif Mohammad High Performance Centre in Karachi.

The T20I series will run from February 10 to 16 in Potchefstroom, Benoni and Kimberley. All T20 matches will be day-night fixtures.

Pakistan will play a 50-over warm-up match on February 19 in Kimberley ahead of the ODI series.

The three-match ODI series will take place from February 22 to March 1 in Bloemfontein, Centurion and Durban. The second ODI will be a day-night match, while the first and third ODIs will be day games.
