BCB submits evidence of security concerns in India

DHAKA: The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has presented concrete evidence to the International Cricket Council (ICC) highlighting serious security concerns for Bangladeshi players in India.

According to Bangladeshi media reports, the board’s legal adviser sent a detailed email to the ICC, attaching around sixteen links as supporting material.

These included television reports, YouTube videos, and newspaper coverage documenting the security situation.

The purpose of submitting these materials was to demonstrate that Bangladeshi cricketers could face potential threats to their lives while on Indian soil.

The legal adviser stated that if the safety of even a single player cannot be guaranteed, it is unrealistic to claim that the entire squad can be fully protected.

The ICC had earlier requested detailed information from the Bangladesh Cricket Board regarding these security concerns.

It is worth noting that the BCB has taken the position that, due to these security risks, the Bangladesh team will not travel to India during the T20 World Cup.

According to the board, this decision is essential to ensure the safety of players and stakeholders, as well as to maintain a fair and secure sporting environment.
