PANJGUR: In a powerful display of collective mourning and political solidarity, the Chehlum and condolence reference for Shaheed Waleed Saleh Baloch drew historic public participation, an event hailed by senior National Party leadership. Mir Rehmat Saleh Baloch, the party’s central leader and Deputy Parliamentary Leader in the Balochistan Assembly, described the public turnout as “historic” and extended profound gratitude to workers, civil society, elders, youth, and leaders from various political parties who joined in the observance.
Addressing the gathering, Mir Rehmat Saleh asserted that the grief over the martyrdom was not confined to one family but represented a collective pain felt across Panjgur and the entire province. “The exemplary solidarity shown by the people will always be remembered,” he stated. He emphasized that the brutal killing of his young brother, who was in the final stages of preparing for his marriage, was a devastating blow to societal dreams, but the magnanimity and unity displayed by the community had served to heal profound wounds.
Turning his address toward the political struggle, Baloch framed the overwhelming public trust as a sacred mandate. “If the people of Panjgur and democratic forces remain united, no force can convince them,” he declared. He argued that defeating the politics of “oppression, murder, and fear” is only possible through persistent, peaceful resistance. “It is possible only when we do not remain silent, do not disperse, and continue the peaceful political struggle,” he urged.
Reaffirming his party’s foundational principles, Mir Rehmat Saleh stated, “The National Party has always adopted the path of peaceful struggle, and even today our ideology is ‘live and let live’.” He issued a dual pledge: that the party would neither impose its views on others nor allow anyone to violate the rights and ideologies of the people of Balochistan. Concluding on a note of resolve, he outlined the ultimate destination: “A peaceful Panjgur and a peaceful Balochistan.” He stressed that achieving this goal necessitates the continuous promotion of public awareness, brotherhood, love, and a politics dedicated to service.
