QUETTA : Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Member of the National Assembly, Jamal Raisani, has alleged that the recent wave of terrorism and social unrest in Balochistan is not isolated but part of a “systematic plan” orchestrated with foreign involvement.
In an interview with a private television channel, Raisani stated that the troubling incidents, including cases where women were allegedly blackmailed into suicide, follow a familiar pattern aimed at destabilizing the province. He pointed to digital evidence as a key indicator of external interference.
“The location feature recently released on social media platform X revealed that several accounts running in the name of Balochistan were operating from abroad,” Raisani claimed. He asserted these accounts were actively spreading harmful propaganda, “which clearly shows that external forces are trying to create chaos in the province.” He added that the role of the international organizations often cited in these contexts has “always been suspicious.”
The PPP lawmaker issued a stern warning against what he described as a long-running campaign to rehabilitate the image of banned militant organizations like the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF). “The efforts to create a soft image of these organizations have been going on since the past, which is extremely worrying,” he said.
Raisani emphasized a universal approach to human rights, arguing, “Human rights are not selective. If we want to talk about human rights, we have to stand against all kinds of extremism and human rights violations.” He concluded that countering this foreign-backed negative propaganda and destabilizing actions is essential for securing lasting peace in Balochistan and the wider country.
