PM Shehbaz Calls for Stronger Pakistan–Bahrain Economic Partnership

MANAMA: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on arrival in Bahrain that the country felt like a second home. He praised the warmth and respect shown by the King and the Crown Prince. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening long-standing fraternal ties with Bahrain. He said both countries would now convert mutual trust into real economic cooperation.

Addressing the business community in Manama, the prime minister said Pakistan–Bahrain relations rest on respect and confidence. He said the time had come to deepen these ties through trade and investment. He said talks were held in a positive atmosphere and further strengthened bilateral relations.

Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan has one of the world’s youngest populations. He said 60 percent of citizens are between 15 and 30 years of age. He added that providing skills in IT, artificial intelligence, and modern technologies remains the government’s top priority. He urged Bahraini companies to partner with Pakistan to explore new opportunities.

The prime minister praised the Pakistani community in Bahrain. He said more than 100,000 Pakistanis living there are a source of national pride. He said their $484 million in annual remittances plays a vital economic role. He called the community the best ambassador of both countries.

He said Pakistan seeks to learn from Bahrain’s development model and economic vision. He said Pakistan offers vast potential due to its natural resources, workforce, and strategic location. He added that Bahrain’s financial expertise can help both nations achieve major success.

The prime minister invited Bahraini investors to explore opportunities in agriculture, IT, minerals, energy, and tourism. He assured full facilitation for foreign investors. He said the Pakistan–GCC Free Trade Agreement is nearing finalisation.

In closing, Shehbaz Sharif quoted a popular saying: “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” He said this reflects the shared future of Pakistan and Bahrain built on cooperation and joint progress.
