Quetta Lacks Modern Hospitals: Governor Balochistan

Quetta lacks modern hospitals: Governor Balochistan

QUETTA:  Governor Balochistan Jafar Khan Mandokhail has stated that patients from all districts of Balochistan depend on Quetta for medical treatment, which places immense pressure on the city’s public hospitals.

He expressed regret that despite the passage of more than five decades, Quetta still lacks a major modern hospital.

He added that even today a large number of patients are forced to travel to Karachi for treatment, putting their lives at serious risk, as some patients do not survive the journey.

He stressed that the government must take urgent steps to resolve this long-standing issue and ensure that quality healthcare services are made available within the province.

The Governor expressed these views during his visit to the Kidney Hospital on Samungli Road, followed by an inspection of Dar-ul-Shifa Imam Khomeini in Hazara Town.

On this occasion, Mohammad Karimi Todeshki in Quetta, along with Dr. Liaquat Taban, doctors, and a large number of paramedical staff were also present.

The Governor was briefed on the hospital’s performance and its current operational status.

While addressing the participants at the ceremony, Governor Mandokhail said that the purpose of his visit was to review the availability of essential resources required for quality care of kidney patients in the province.

He expressed satisfaction after witnessing those patients suffering from kidney diseases are receiving quality treatment.

He praised Dr. Liaquat Agha and his entire team for their tireless efforts and dedication.

He further noted that the provision of four dialysis machines through the cooperation of the Iranian Consulate General would significantly help improve the overall standard of the Kidney Hospital.

He also expressed pride that these dialysis machines are manufactured in Iran.

The Governor added that it was encouraging to see locally trained female surgeons and physicians actively serving in the province.

Earlier, the Governor inspected various sections of the Kidney Hospital in detail.

Later, he visited Dar-ul-Shifa Imam Khomeini in the outskirts of Quetta and reviewed its different departments.

While speaking to the doctors, paramedical staff, and religious scholars present there, he said that the establishment of this hospital has greatly benefited the local population, and the six dialysis machines provided with Iranian support would further ease healthcare services for patients.

Governor Jafar Khan Mandokhail also appealed to the philanthropists of Balochistan to play an active and meaningful role in supporting the people of their province.
