BBoIT and TDAP unite to showcase Balochistan’s economic potential

Balochistan Forges Key Partnership with TDAP to Boost Trade and Investment

Quetta: In a significant move to boost the provincial economy, the Balochistan Board of Investment and Trade (BBoIT) and the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) have agreed to join forces to promote trade and attract investment to Balochistan.

The agreement was reached during a key meeting between BBoIT Vice Chairman Bilal Khan Kakar, CEO Qaim Lashari, and TDAP Secretary Shahryar Taj. Both institutions committed to a collaborative strategy focused on improving investor facilities, streamlining trade processes, and identifying key sectors for domestic and foreign investment.

Mr. Kakar emphasized Balochistan’s strategic potential, stating that the partnership with TDAP is vital for connecting the province’s products and industries with wider national and international markets.

Echoing this sentiment, Secretary TDAP, Mr. Taj, pledged full support to strengthen institutional ties. He assured that Balochistani businesses would be integrated into national export promotion programs, offering them crucial access to training, capacity building, and participation in major national and international trade exhibitions.

CEO BBoIT, Mr. Lashari, highlighted that this coordinated effort is essential for showcasing Balochistan’s emerging investment landscape. The joint initiatives between TDAP and BBoIT are expected to effectively highlight the province’s unique economic potential, paving the way for sustainable economic growth and development by unlocking new opportunities for local businesses and attracting crucial investment.

In a sperate but related  move a “historic” agreement was signed between the Balochistan Board of Investment and Trade (BBoIT) and the provincial Fisheries Department in a ceremony at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, a move hailed as a milestone for the province’s economy.

Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, who presided over the event, described the pact as the practical realization of a long-standing dream for Balochistan. He praised the efforts of the teams involved and highlighted the vast investment opportunities in key sectors like fisheries, agriculture, and mining.
