QUETTA: Two militants affiliated with Fitna al-Hindustan were killed after security forces launched an immediate response following an attack on a water bowser in Nokcha, security sources said.
According to the sources, the militants set an empty water bowser on fire in Nokcha and attempted to flee the area. Security forces responded promptly and killed two of the militants.
The sources said the militants were also involved in setting fire to vehicles and other property at different locations along the N-40 highway.
Eleven militants involved in similar arson attacks were killed on August 31, the sources added.
Security sources said the forces remain committed to eliminating terrorism from the country and establishing lasting peace, adding that operations against militants would continue until the last terrorist is eliminated.
Two days earlier, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said security forces had killed more than 71 militants in various operations across Balochistan over a 96-hour period and recovered a large quantity of weapons and ammunition.
Interior Minister Pays Tribute to Security Forces
Meanwhile, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the security forces for successful operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
Naqvi said the security forces had foiled the “nefarious designs” of the militants through timely operations.
He said successful actions against militants and their facilitators were highly commendable, adding that the security forces were a source of pride for the nation.
Naqvi said the militants would be eliminated with the continued support of the Pakistani nation.
