Security forces foil major terrorist attack in North Waziristan

NORTH WAZIRISTAN: As per the official statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was carried out on October 24 following credible intelligence regarding the presence of militants affiliated with the Indian-backed group Fitna al-Khwarij.

The Khwarij was preparing a vehicle-borne suicide attack intended to cause large-scale destruction. The troops launched an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Jhallar area of North Waziristan District.

The security personnel precisely engaged the militants’ position, successfully destroying an explosive-laden vehicle that was being readied for the suicide mission. The ISPR confirmed that three militants, identified as Indian-sponsored members of the Khwarij network, were killed in the operation.

In this regard, a sanitization effort was undertaken in the surrounding areas to ensure the complete elimination of any remaining threats and to secure the region from further attacks.

In this sense, the government representatives stated that the operation is part of Pakistan’s broader counterterrorism campaign under the national vision Azm-e-Istehkam, approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan.

The ISPR  focused on the fact that such intelligence-based operations are a vital component of Pakistan’s strategy to combat terrorism and maintain internal security. It confirmed that these operations will persist until complete peace and normalcy are restored in all parts of the country.

Meanwhile,  the security officials reasserted the government’s constant resolve to confront any threats to national security, mentioning that the recent success in North Waziristan indicates the continued effectiveness of coordinated intelligence and military operations.
