QUETTA: The review meeting was held under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Quetta, Mehrullah Badini, to assess the progress of the ongoing anti-polio campaign on its fifth day.
Furthermore, the session was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Muhammad Anwar Kakar, District Health Officer (DHO) Dr. Aimel Mandokhail, Assistant Commissioners, members of the Provincial and District Emergency Operation Centers (EOC), representatives of operational teams, and officials from the police department.
The participants were given a detailed briefing on the progress of the polio vaccination campaign across various areas of Quetta.
The report mentioned area-wise coverage, the number of refusal cases, and vaccination performance in schools. Moreover, the DC Badini expressed appreciation for the dedication of the field and health teams engaged in the campaign.
He underlines the importance of close coordination between administrative officers and vaccination teams to achieve the campaign’s targets.
In such a scenario, he further instructed the government representatives to prioritize the resolution of refusal cases, ensuring that every child under five years of age receives the life-saving vaccine.
The DC also mentioned the role of public awareness and community engagement in overcoming misconceptions related to polio vaccination.
