RAWALPINDI:  On the night of 11–12 October 2025, the Afghan Taliban, in coordination with India-sponsored group Fitna al-Khawarij (FAK), carried out an unprovoked attack along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border.

This cowardly action — involving intermittent firing and limited ground incursions — was intended to create instability in border regions and enable terrorist activities.

Exercising its right to self-defence, Pakistan’s alert Armed Forces responded decisively across the entire border, successfully repelling the assault and inflicting severe losses on Taliban fighters and their allied militants.

Precision strikes and coordinated raids targeted Taliban positions, terrorist camps, and logistics networks inside Afghan territory, including those associated with FAK, Fitna al-Hindustan (FAH), and ISKP/Daesh.

Every effort was made to prevent civilian casualties and avoid collateral damage.

These sustained operations led to the destruction of multiple Taliban sites, the temporary capture of 21 hostile posts on the Afghan side, and the disabling of several terrorist training centers used to coordinate attacks against Pakistan.

During these clashes, 23 valiant Pakistani soldiers embraced shahadat while defending the nation, and 29 others were injured.

Intelligence reports confirm that over 200 Taliban and affiliated militants were neutralized, with many more wounded. Substantial damage was inflicted on Taliban infrastructure, including command posts and support networks, across both tactical and operational levels.

The Armed Forces of Pakistan remain fully prepared to defend the country’s sovereignty and ensure the safety of its people.

While Pakistan continues to prefer dialogue and peaceful engagement, it will not tolerate the use of Afghan soil for terrorism against its citizens.

This unprovoked aggression notably coincided with the Taliban Foreign Minister’s visit to India — the primary sponsor of terrorism in the region — raising serious concerns.

Pakistan calls upon the Taliban Government to take concrete and verifiable action against groups such as FAK, FAH, and ISKP/Daesh.

Failing this, Pakistan will persist in exercising its right to eliminate terror threats wherever they emerge.

This incident reaffirms Pakistan’s consistent stance that the Taliban regime is enabling terrorist elements.

Should the Taliban leadership persist in collaborating with India to destabilize the region, Pakistan and its people will remain steadfast in ensuring that all terrorist networks operating from Afghan territory are decisively dismantled.
