QUETTA: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Quetta, Mehrullah Badini, chaired a key meeting of the District Education Group on Tuesday to address pressing issues in the region’s schools.
The meeting was attended by district education officers and other officials. During the briefing, several critical topics were discussed, including the operational status of schools catering to Afghan students, the payment of salaries for contract teachers, and reports of non-functional schools.
DC Badini took a firm stance on teacher absenteeism, clarifying that show-cause notices are being issued to staff members who are absent without reason, which will lead to deductions in their salaries.
He issued direct orders to education officials, instructing them to conduct regular visits to schools and to ensure there is no compromise on the quality of education provided to students.
A major decision from the meeting was the commitment to strengthen the monitoring system for schools. The officials agreed that a more effective monitoring mechanism is essential to improve the educational activities and overall learning outcomes for students.
