Interior Minister pays tribute to Captain Waqar, soldiers martyred in Kech

ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid tribute to Captain Waqar Ahmed and four soldiers who embraced martyrdom during an operation in Kech district.

In a statement, the Interior Minister said Captain Waqar and along with his soldiers had “attained the great status of martyrdom” while defending the country. “We salute their sacrifice,” he added, stressing that the martyrs had “nurtured peace with their precious blood.”

The minister expressed heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the families of Captain Waqar Ahmed and the other fallen soldiers.

Mohsin Naqvi also praised the security forces for killing five Indian-sponsored terrorists in the operation. He said the action demonstrated the forces’ resolve and commitment to eradicating terrorism.

“The entire nation stands with the security forces in this war against terrorism,” he said, reaffirming the government’s support for ongoing counterterrorism efforts.

It is pertinent to mention here that five security personnel, including an officer, were martyred in an explosion in Balochistan’s Kech district on Monday.

The militants planted an improvised explosive device (IED) in the Mand area, near Pak-Iran border. The device was detonated by a remote control to target the vehicle moving between tehsil Dashat and Mand.

The vehicle was blown up and all five security personnel, including Captain Waqar Kakar, were martyred.
