RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Armed forces paid tribute to the nation’s martyrs on the 60th Defence and Martyrs’ Day.
In a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Army Chief General Asim Munir, along with the heads of the navy and air force, honoured the sacrifices of the fallen soldiers and their families.
The statement recalled the events of September 6, 1965, praising the “unflinching resolve” of the Pakistani nation and its armed forces. It stated that despite being outnumbered, brave soldiers thwarted an enemy’s aggression, leaving a message that “a united nation can never be defeated.”
The military reaffirmed its pledge to defend Pakistan against all threats, warning that any attempt to disrupt the country’s peace would be met with a “befitting and decisive response.”
Additionally, the armed forces pledged full support to victims of ongoing floods across the country and announced that Defence Day would be celebrated with humility.
