Terrorism cannot Intimidate the Balochistan's people: CM

Quetta: Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, has said that acts of terrorism cannot frighten the Balochistan’s people.

He emphasized that the people of the province are courageous and resilient, and have always foiled the designs of those who seek to disrupt peace and development.

He made these remarks on Friday while speaking to the media at the Balochistan Assembly.

Condemning the Sariab Road blast in strong words, the Chief Minister said terrorists are targeting innocent civilians, which is highly tragic.

He stated that terrorists have neither a nation nor a tribe, and their sole agenda is bloodshed and spreading chaos.

Expressing sympathy with the families of those who lost their lives, he assured that immediate compensation is being arranged and that the government stands firmly by the victims’ families.

Bugti further said that all political parties have the democratic right to protest, but violence will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Clarifying a recent issue, he mentioned that he never commented on the attack on Sardar Akhtar Mengal but had only discussed security threats to political leadership with Opposition Leader Younus Zehri.

When asked about internet suspension, the Chief Minister explained that terrorists misuse the internet for malicious purposes, and therefore such measures sometimes become unavoidable.

He also announced that going forward, all political parties in the province would be required to conclude their rallies before sunset to ensure public safety and order.

Bugti revealed that a jirga is being convened in Ziarat to resolve tribal disputes through mutual consensus.

He also assured that the government is closely monitoring the situation of the Indus River and, at present, Balochistan faces no risk of flooding.

Praising the Prime Minister’s recent visit to China, he termed it a great success, stating that the trip has further strengthened Pakistan’s international relations.

He added that those who believed Pakistan was isolated globally have now been proven wrong, as history shows that the world always sides with the strong.

The Chief Minister reaffirmed the government’s determination to protect the lives and property of citizens and to continue all-out efforts for the province’s development.

He vowed that terrorist would be brought to justice.
