BANNU: Security forces on Tuesday morning successfully foiled a major suicide attack in Bannu after intercepting a vehicle laden with explosives that was attempting to ram into a security installation.
The incident occurred around 5:00 a.m. when a suicide bomber driving an explosive-laden vehicle tried to breach a sensitive security facility. The interception caused a powerful explosion, heard across nearby areas. However, due to the swift and precise response of the forces, no damage was reported to the security installation.
In this regard, following the blast, security forces swiftly cordoned off the entire area and launched a comprehensive search and clearance operation to ensure no further threat existed. Furthermore, local residents reported hearing gunfire and a loud explosion in the early hours of the morning, which caused panic in the vicinity.
