QUETTA: The Balochistan Assembly Member Meena Majeed Baloch strongly refuted claims being circulated on social media regarding the alleged enforced disappearance of a woman named Zarina Marri from Kohlu, terming the reports “fabricated, baseless, and part of an organized propaganda campaign.”
In this sense, she addressed the Meena Majeed who alleged that a few social media activists and influencers, including Munir Mengal, are involved in spreading false narratives against Pakistan’s state and its institutions.
She further said that such individuals are “well known for their connections and friendly ties with India” and have been continuously engaged in maligning the country through misinformation.
In this sense, she particularly rejected the claims made by a senior journalist who has been repeatedly citing the case of Zarina Marri, alleging that she was forcibly taken away by security forces from Kohlu. “This story is categorically false. It is nothing more than propaganda,” Meena Majeed asserted.
Furthermore, providing further details, she stated that Kohlu is a well-populated city with nearly 200,000 residents, yet no credible evidence, record, or testimony exists to support the claims of any such incident.
“No tragedy or case of this nature has ever been reported or substantiated from Kohlu,” she maintained.
Moreover, Zarina Marri was previously employed as a teacher but no longer works in any school.
In order to substantiate her statement, she referred to Taj Muhammad Leghari, Principal of Government Model High School Kohlu and a senior official of the District Education Department, who recently issued a video statement confirming that no teacher by the name of Zarina Marri is or has been associated with the school.

“Therefore, the entire story regarding Zarina Marri’s alleged disappearance is fabricated and holds no ground in reality,” Meena Majeed said, emphasizing that such baseless allegations are being deliberately promoted to defame Pakistan at the international level.
