Chagai : A freight train traveling from Taftan to Quetta derailed near Salandi, causing eight of its carriages to come off the tracks.
According to railway officials, the derailed wagons were loaded with sulfur. The incident has led to a temporary suspension of the Pakistan-Iran railway line.
Railway sources confirm that repair efforts are underway, and the track will be restored shortly to resume operations.

From derailments in remote mountainous terrain to sabotage incidents on sensitive rail routes, the region has witnessed disruptions that not only affect cargo and passenger transport but also expose vulnerabilities in cross-border connectivity such as the Taftan-Zahidan route.
