Terrorists fear progress in Balochistan, says Minister Buledi

QUETTA: Balochistan’s Minister for Planning and Development, Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi, said the state narrative must reach every home to protect youth from enemy propaganda.

Speaking at the Burak Digital podcast, he claimed that hostile agencies, especially RAW and Mossad, are actively involved in creating unrest in Balochistan. They aim to incite local youth against the state.

Buledi stated that development connects the people of Balochistan to the state, something terrorists cannot tolerate. “Whenever a major development project begins in Balochistan, enemy forces immediately activate,” he said.

He cited attacks and opposition against key projects like Hub Desalination, CPEC, and the South Balochistan Package. “Their goal is not just to halt progress, but to drive a wedge between the people and the state,” he added.

Buledi acknowledged that some youth, out of ignorance, fall for enemy narratives. “This harms both the youth and the state,” he said.

He emphasized the role of political leaders in the situation. “When in power, they support the state. But once out of office, they shift to anti-state rhetoric. This attitude is extremely dangerous.”

He urged Baloch youth not to be tools in the enemy’s hands. “Our message is clear: not guns, but education and development are the way forward.”

Buledi also highlighted recent initiatives. He said the Prime Minister has announced Rs120 billion for the Quetta-Karachi highway. Work is also underway on the Gwadar water supply, Sariab Road, Sabzal Road, and other infrastructure projects. “This year’s PSDP includes major investments in human capital development and agriculture,” he noted.

When asked about the gap between the people and their elected representatives, Buledi pointed to Balochistan’s vast geography and scattered population. “The local government system must be strengthened. Until powers are transferred down to union councils, public issues will remain unresolved.”

In his closing message, Buledi addressed Balochistan’s youth directly: “Pakistan is our shared homeland. Terrorist groups want to divide and weaken us. But Balochistan and Pakistan are inseparable.”
