RAWALPINDI: Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir has met with Pakistan’s visually impaired diplomat, Saima Saleem, a member of Pakistan’s mission to the United Nations.
According to ISPR, the meeting took place in a cordial and encouraging environment. Field Marshal Asim Munir praised Saima Saleem’s dedication and contributions to international diplomacy, stating that despite her visual impairment, she has highlighted Pakistan’s stance on global platforms with unwavering determination and professionalism – a matter of great pride for the entire nation.
The Army Chief described her courage, resilience, and capabilities as a beacon of inspiration for Pakistan’s youth, especially for persons with disabilities. He reiterated the Pakistan Army’s commitment to supporting persons with disabilities and enhancing their role in national development.
ISPR further stated that Saima Saleem briefed the Army Chief on her diplomatic responsibilities at the UN and elaborated on Pakistan’s position regarding India’s state-sponsored terrorism and efforts for regional peace and stability.

Field Marshal Munir appreciated her efforts, acknowledging her key role in effectively projecting Pakistan’s perspective on the global stage and exposing the threats posed by Indian aggression and terrorism.
