QUETTA: Once considered powerful voices in the region, nationalist leaders in Balochistan are now facing growing discontent as more and more citizens reject their rhetoric and agendas.
In this regard, the people of Balochistan, particularly the youth, are increasingly distancing themselves from the propaganda spread by these leaders, who are often accused of having sympathies with armed groups and spreading false narratives against the state.
Furthermore, for decades, certain nationalist figures have attempted to shape public opinion by portraying themselves as defenders of Baloch rights. However, their affiliations with separatist and militant outfits have raised serious questions about their true intentions.
“There was a time when these leaders could manipulate sentiments through emotional slogans, but now things have changed,” Nadeem ur Rehman added, a senior politician of Balochistan.
“The people are more informed and can see through the contradictions and hidden motives of such elements.”
The Baloch youth, in particular, are playing a key role in this shift. With increased access to education, social media, and platforms for civic engagement, they are rejecting the narrative of violence and division.

Moreover, local community leaders also point out that the common citizen is now more focused on economic stability, education, and healthcare — areas where nationalist leaders have historically failed to deliver.
Meanwhile, as the influence of armed sympathizers and radical elements diminishes, Balochistan is seeing a gradual but notable transformation. The fear once instilled by violent groups and their political supporters is fading, replaced by a new sense of awareness and hope for a peaceful and progressive future.
