US–Iran Talks Positive, Islamabad May Host Next Round: White House

WASHINGTON: Karoline Leavitt, spokesperson for the White House, said that talks between the United States and Iran are progressing in a positive direction, adding that the next round of negotiations is likely to be held in Islamabad.

She noted that Pakistan is the sole mediator in these discussions.

Speaking during a news briefing, she rejected reports claiming that the US had requested an extension of the ceasefire, calling them incorrect.

She said that the blockade in the Strait of Hormuz remains in place, with ships departing from Iranian ports facing a complete restriction.

Leavitt further stated that Xi Jinping has assured Donald Trump that China is not supplying weapons to Iran.
