QUETTA: Mir Zia Langove, the provincial Home Minister of Balochistan, strongly condemned the firing incident on police constable Farhan Bashir, who was deployed for the security of a polio team in Dera Murad Jamali, calling it a cowardly act by anti-peace elements.
He stated that targeting polio teams and security personnel is unacceptable and those involved deserve no leniency.
He added that such attacks are not only an attempt to challenge the authority of the state but also put the future of innocent children at risk.
He directed law enforcement agencies to ensure the immediate arrest of those involved, conduct thorough investigations, and bring the perpetrators to justice.
He emphasized that every attempt to disrupt peace in the province will be dealt with firmly.
The minister reaffirmed that the government is committed to the complete eradication of polio and will take strict action against anyone obstructing this national campaign.
He also expressed heartfelt condolences to the family of the martyred police officer, assuring them that the government stands with them and that the sacrifices of martyrs will not go in vain.
