Potential US-Iran Deal to Be Named ‘Islamabad Declaration’: Al-Arabiya

WEB DESK: As diplomatic efforts between Iran and the United States gather pace, reports have emerged suggesting that any potential initial agreement between the two nations will be named the Islamabad Declaration.

According to Saudi broadcaster Al-Arabiya, Pakistan is set to play an important role in the announcement of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This MoU would later serve as the foundation for more detailed negotiations aimed at reaching a final agreement to end the Middle East conflict.

Citing sources, Al-Arabiya further reported that the next round of US-Iran talks is likely to be held on June 5. The development comes amid heightened global attention, as markets react to the prospect of reduced tensions in the oil-rich region.

Earlier, crude oil prices fell more than 5% in Asian trading on hopes of a breakthrough. However, former US President Donald Trump has cautioned against expectations of an immediate completion of any deal, stating on social media that he has instructed his representatives not to rush into an agreement.

The involvement of Pakistan as a key facilitator underscores the growing diplomatic weight of regional players in mediating between Washington and Tehran. The “Islamabad Declaration” would mark a significant milestone if the parties reach an initial unders

tanding.
