ISLAMABAD: Toyota has reduced the prices of its Corolla Cross hybrid variants in Pakistan after the government lowered the sales tax on locally manufactured hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) with engine capacities of up to 2,000cc.
Toyota cut the price of the Corolla Cross HEV X by Rs570,000 to Rs9.729 million, while the Corolla Cross HEV received a Rs550,000 reduction, bringing its price down to Rs9.299 million.
The revised prices are effective from September 13, 2026, according to Toyota’s notification, and are based on an ex-factory Karachi price.

The latest price cuts follow a reduction in the sales tax applicable to locally manufactured hybrid electric vehicles.
Toyota had raised the prices of both Corolla Cross hybrid variants on July 8, after the sales tax on locally manufactured HEVs increased from 8.5% to 25% from July 1.
Following the tax increase, the price of the Corolla Cross HEV X rose from Rs8.935 million to Rs10.299 million, while the Corolla Cross HEV increased from Rs8.535 million to Rs9.849 million.
The government subsequently reduced the sales tax from 25% to 18% for locally manufactured HEVs with engine capacities of up to 2,000cc.
Several automakers have since revised their prices following the tax adjustment. Toyota’s latest notification brings the Corolla Cross hybrid prices down but leaves both variants above their pre-July prices.
The price revisions are expected to affect the cost of locally manufactured hybrid vehicles in Pakistan as automakers adjust prices following changes in the tax regime.
