HANGU: Three people were killed in a clash between two groups over a dispute involving the construction of a hospital in Hangu, police said.
District Police Officer Hangu Tariq Habib said the incident took place in Chapri Waziran in the limits of Tall police station.
Two people from one group and one person from the other group were killed in the firing. Another person from the second group was wounded and taken to hospital.
Police said the dead included former Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) tehsil nazim Piao Zar.
Habib said the two groups had a dispute over the site of a Basic Health Unit (BHU) hospital project in Chapri Waziran.
Both groups wanted the basic health facility to be built in their respective areas, he said.
Police rushed to the area after receiving the report of the incident. They cordoned off the area and launched an investigation.
