MUMBAI: Nakul Kapoor is considered one of the most mysterious figures in the Indian film industry.
He first gained recognition through a music video and later appeared in the 2002 film Tum Se Achha Kaun Hai.
Although the movie was not a box office success, it became extremely popular on television, generating significant revenue for producers for nearly a decade, especially through its songs.
As television viewership declined with the rise of the internet, the film’s earnings also faded.
Despite the film’s mixed reception, Nakul Kapoor was appreciated as a hero and began receiving more film offers.
However, in 2005, news broke across Indian media that Nakul Kapoor had died in a car accident.
Over time, he faded from public memory. Around 2011, a video surfaced online showing a man resembling him teaching yoga in Canada.
Initially dismissed as a lookalike, the mystery deepened when Nakul Kapoor himself appeared in the media, claiming he had changed his name and was indeed alive.
He stated that he had always wanted to become a yoga instructor and chose to leave the film industry voluntarily.
The circumstances surrounding his reported death, sudden disappearance at the peak of rising fame, and reappearance years later remain puzzling.
Unlike global celebrities rumored to have withdrawn after achieving peak success,Nakul Kapoor was still young and on the verge of greater opportunities.
Questions remain unanswered—why he disappeared, why no clarification came from his family, and how he stayed completely out of public sight for six years.
