Mirpur: Amidst the recent tensions and protests involving the proscribed Awami Action Committee in Mirpur, a young woman approached law enforcement authorities to request the release of her fiancé.
In her petition, she emphasized that their wedding is scheduled for next month and stated that her fiancé has no meaningful involvement or affiliation with the proscribed organization.
She further assured authorities that he would not participate in such activities in the future.
Following this request, the SSP of Mirpur reviewed the matter on humanitarian grounds and issued directions to the relevant officials.
He ordered that if the ongoing investigation confirms the individual does not have an active or significant connection to the proscribed group, he should be granted appropriate legal relief to allow him to attend to his wedding and family responsibilities.
Police officials emphasized that the objective of law enforcement agencies is to maintain peace and ensure the rule of law, rather than to cause difficulties for ordinary citizens.
Consequently, each case is being evaluated on an individual basis to ensure fair treatment.
