QUETTA: Security Incidents and Violence in Balochistan have surged following a series of coordinated and violent attacks across different parts of the province.
According to police reports, unidentified miscreants blew up a bridge on the Quetta-Karachi National Highway using explosive devices in the Marjan area of Kalat on Thursday.
The blast occurred precisely as a passenger coach was crossing the bridge, resulting in multiple injuries among the passengers who were immediately rushed to Nawab Ghous Bakhsh Raisani Hospital in Mastung.
The explosion severely damaged the infrastructure, disrupting main highway traffic, though alternative routes have been activated while police investigate further.
In a separate incident near Gandawah, Notal, and Landhi Maror, armed bandits intercepted a van and looted passengers.
According to sources, a government vehicle carrying police personnel traveling to Quetta for training was also targeted and robbed by the outlaws.
Meanwhile, in the Kank area of Mastung, unidentified armed attackers opened fire on a police checkpost, martyring Constable Ezzatullah and injuring Constable Naseebullah.
Security forces retaliated, forcing the assailants to flee, and the area was cordoned off. Additionally, Zhob Police recovered an unidentified body from the Dana Sar mountainous region, later identified as Khan Bahadur, son of Juma Khan, a resident of Afghanistan.
