QUETTA: Security forces killed more than five terrorists in intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Punjgur district of Balochistan, security sources say on Thursday, as Operation Radd-ul-Fitna-3 continued against Indian proxies.
The high-tempo intelligence-driven operation was conducted as part of the ongoing “Radd-ul-Fitna-3” campaign, which the military’s media affairs wing has described as a counterterrorism operation aimed at eliminating Indian-sponsored terrorist groups known as Fitna al Hindustan and Fitna al Khawarij.
Footage released by the security forces shows aerial surveillance of the area before the operation. The footage appears to show militants identified as members of Fitna al-Hindustan travelling on motorcycles towards an unidentified target. Security forces tracked and marked the militants from the air before launching the operation.
Security forces sources said the militants were travelling on motorcycles and were preparing for a major attack.
The forces secured the area and blocked escape routes before launching the operation. They used advanced surveillance and weapons to target the militants, the statement said.
Five militants were killed and several others were wounded, according to the military.
Security forces also recovered a large cache of weapons and equipment from the site.
The recovered items included three vehicles, two motorcycles, one light machine gun and four submachine guns. Forces also found an improvised explosive device, three walkie-talkie sets, four bandoliers and 10 magazines.
The operation also recovered 200 rounds for submachine guns and 500 rounds for the light machine gun. Security forces found a flag belonging to a proscribed organisation, the military said.
The reports say the militants were involved in extortion, kidnappings and targeted killings in Panjgur and nearby areas. They were also planning suicide attacks, it said.
Security forces said operations would continue until all militants in the area are eliminated.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has praised the security forces for their successful IBOs in Punjgur under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3. The interior minister lauded the professional capabilities of the security forces for killing more than five belonging to Fitna al-Hindustan, also known as BLA – the Baloch Liberation Army.
