LAHORE: Punjab CM Electric Bike Scheme Phase Two has officially been launched, opening up digital portals for students following the success of previous youth laptop and scholarship initiatives.
According to recent updates, the program witnessed an overwhelming response with over 432,000 student registrations recorded across Punjab in just two days, while another 265,000 registrations are actively underway.
Eligible students can submit their applications online through the official portal (bikes.punjab.gov.pk) until October 4.
To qualify for the Punjab CM Electric Bike Scheme Phase Two, applicants must hold a valid Punjab domicile or CNIC and be regular students enrolled in Higher Education Commission (HEC)-approved public or private degree colleges or universities.
Candidates must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid learner’s driving license or motorcycle license. Under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s directives, the down payment has been completely waived, and the government will shoulder all interest and insurance markups. Selected students will only pay a nominal monthly installment of 3,028 rupees.
Additionally, beneficiaries of the Punjab CM Electric Bike Scheme Phase Two will receive complimentary helmets and safety rods, alongside a mandatory two-day riding training program.
The Chief Minister has further instructed relevant authorities to ensure the seamless distribution of electric bikes to successful applicants within six weeks of completing the verification process.
This initiative aims to ease daily campus commutes while promoting eco-friendly transportation statewide, further underscoring the vital impact of the Punjab CM Electric Bike Scheme Phase Two on modern student mobility.
