All Four Provincial Chief Secretaries Now From KPK

ISLAMABAD :  For the first time in Pakistan’s administrative history, a historic milestone has been achieved as the top bureaucratic positions across all four provinces of the country are concurrently held by officers hailing from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province.

This unprecedented development marks a significant shift in the country’s governance landscape, highlighting how civil service merit and competence can transcend traditional provincial boundaries to open doors at the highest levels of state machinery.

The distinguished Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS) officers leading the administrative infrastructure across the nation include:

  • Shahab Ali Shah – Serving as the Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
  • Shakeel Qadir Khan – Spearheading the administrative operations as the Chief Secretary of Balochistan.
  • Arshad Majeed Mohmand – Serving as the Chief Secretary of Gilgit-Baltistan (and previously overseeing critical provincial portfolios).
  • Khushal Khan – Overseeing governance as the Chief Secretary of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

Political analysts and governance experts view this as a major breakthrough for national integration and meritocracy. The layout reinforces a robust civil service structure where professional capability, administrative acumen, and a proven track record of public service take precedence over regional identity, establishing a new benchmark for cross-regional administrative deployment in Pakistan.
