Sri Lanka Confirms Participation in Pakistan Tri-Nation ODI Series

LAHORE: Sri Lanka has formally confirmed its participation in the proposed tri-nation ODI series to be held in Pakistan, prompting an acceleration in preparations for the event.

According to media reports, the series will feature Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and England. It is being organised as part of preparations for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2027.

Sources said the Sri Lanka Cricket Board has agreed to take part in the series. England’s participation is also expected, while consultations between the boards are ongoing to finalise the schedule.

Reports indicate the series will take place in Pakistan between October and November this year. Lahore and Karachi are under consideration as possible host venues.

It is further reported that the Sri Lankan team may also play T20 matches before the ODI series during the tour. A Test series could also be included in a later phase of the tour schedule.

Pakistan has previously hosted successful tri-nation series. Officials say the proposed event will serve as an important preparatory platform for all participating teams ahead of the World Cup.
