Pakistan Really Helped Us’: Trump Lauds PM, Field Marshal Role in Iran Deal

WASHINGTON :  US President Donald Trump has once again openly praised Pakistan’s leadership, commending the “very good harmony” between Prime Minister Shehbaz Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, while acknowledging Islamabad’s crucial role in recent negotiations.

Speaking to reporters, President Trump highlighted his growing familiarity with Pakistani officials, stating that he had come to know people in Pakistan whom he was not previously well acquainted with. He specifically lauded the army chief, describing Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir as a “very good personality.”

Trump emphasized the strong working relationship between the civilian and military leadership, noting that the military chief holds his Prime Minister in high regard. “There is very good harmony between the Prime Minister and the Field Marshal. The military chief respects his Prime Minister very much,” the US President said.

In a significant acknowledgment, Trump credited Pakistan for its instrumental role in facilitating an agreement, stating, “Pakistan really helped us a lot in the agreement.” He added that while he already knew the Iranians and was familiar with them, Pakistan played a very effective role in the negotiations.

The US President’s remarks mark another public endorsement of Pakistan’s diplomatic contributions, signaling strengthening ties between Washington and Islamabad. Officials on both sides have welcomed the positive sentiment, viewing it as a step toward deeper bilateral cooperation.
