Pakistan Army Officer Martyred in Balochistan Laid to Rest with Full Military Honours

RAWALPINDI: The funeral prayer of Lieutenant Colonel Khalid Hussain Shaheed, a resident of District Sargodha, was offered on Wednesday at Chaklala Garrison in Rawalpindi.

He embraced martyrdom on Tuesday after sustaining injuries while leading his troops during a counterterrorism operation in Balochistan. The operation targeted Indian-sponsored terrorists, according to official sources.

The funeral was attended by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, federal ministers for interior and information, senior civil and military officials, as well as the martyr’s family and a large number of citizens.

The Prime Minister paid rich tribute to the fallen officer. He praised his courage, professionalism, and unwavering dedication to duty. He said Lieutenant Colonel Khalid Hussain Shaheed served the nation with distinction.

He reaffirmed that Pakistan’s armed forces, with full support of the nation, remain determined to eliminate terrorism and its facilitators from the country.

He said the sacrifices of martyrs strengthen national resolve. He added that Pakistan remains committed to defending its peace, stability, and sovereignty at all costs.

The martyr will be laid to rest in his native town with full military honours. The armed forces and the people of Pakistan extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and paid solemn tribute to the officer’s sacrifice.
