ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has strongly condemned drone attacks targeting the East-West Pipeline in Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh and Madinah regions, describing attacks on critical civilian infrastructure as highly deplorable.
The attacks caused damage to the pipeline and resulted in injuries to some civilians. Pakistan expressed serious concern over the incident and reasserted its opposition to attacks against civilian and strategic infrastructure.
Pakistan said that attacks of this nature constitute a clear violation of international law and run contrary to Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The Foreign Office stressed that targeting civilian installations in Saudi Arabia could pose a serious threat to peace, security and stability in the wider region. Islamabad also reaffirmed its position against actions that could further increase tensions and undermine regional stability.
The statement indicates Pakistan’s broader emphasis on protecting civilian infrastructure and respecting the sovereignty of states amid continuing security challenges in the region.
Pakistan Confirms Support for Saudi Arabia
The Foreign Office said Pakistan would continue to extend its unwavering support for Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, security and prosperity.
Islamabad also reasserted its solidarity with the Saudi leadership, government and people, describing the two countries’ relationship as one marked by close ties and mutual support.
Pakistan focused on that it remains concerned about developments that threaten regional peace and stability and would continue to oppose such actions through diplomatic channels.
Pakistan also confirmed its commitment to making sincere and serious efforts toward achieving lasting peace and stability in the region.
The statement comes as attacks on critical infrastructure continue to raise concerns over their potential impact on civilian safety, energy security and regional stability. Islamabad maintained that sustainable peace requires respect for national sovereignty and the protection of civilian facilities.
