No Govt Talks Progress Without Imran Access, Says PTI Chairman

ECP declines to recognize Barrister Gohar as PTI Chairman

ISLAMABAD: Tensions are mounting outside Adiala Jail as PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan revealed that no one has been permitted to meet the party’s founder, Imran Khan, for 36 consecutive weeks, casting doubt on the progress of ongoing dialogue with the government.

Speaking to media representatives outside the prison facility, Barrister Gohar expressed growing alarm over the prolonged isolation of the former prime minister. “Even on the day of the meeting, no access was granted. The Prime Minister invited us for talks, but there has been no headway in negotiations with the government,” he stated.

He emphasized that meetings with Imran Khan are essential to understand his current mindset and strategic direction. The former premier’s family, he added, has specifically requested that his three sisters be allowed to visit him.

Barrister Gohar pointed out the contradiction in the government’s approach, saying: “On one hand, our people are being penalized; on the other hand, there is talk of dialogue.” He lamented that the lack of access is deepening uncertainty within the party ranks.

Echoing similar concerns, PTI leader Salman Akram Raja attributed the prevailing state of disarray within the party to the inability to consult the incarcerated founder. “The chaos in PTI stems directly from the lack of meetings with the founder. We desperately need to meet him and receive his guidance. The leadership is under immense pressure due to the absence of clear instructions from him,” Raja explained.

The party leaders reiterated that without direct communication with Imran Khan, any political negotiations or internal decision-making remain stalled, urging the authorities to grant immediate and unfettered access to their founding leader
