NASEERABAD, Sept 4: Naseerabad Division witnessed progress and official activity across several sectors, including development projects, healthcare, water supply, police administration, public affairs, interfaith harmony and sports, with authorities emphasizing transparency, timely execution and improved public services.
The tendering process for development schemes under the Balochistan Special Development Initiative (BSDI) was completed under the supervision of Executive Engineer Communications and Works (Building), Naseerabad, Khalil Ahmed Umrani. Tender documents were opened in the presence of contractors and relevant officials. Umrani stressed that all procedures should be conducted according to rules, merit and transparency, saying the schemes were intended to provide basic facilities and support sustainable development.
Commissioner Naseerabad Division Salahuddin Noorzai also chaired a meeting to assess progress on the under-construction Naseerabad Medical College. Project Director Engineer Amir Aziz Magsi briefed participants about the three-phase project, including issues related to funding. The commissioner termed the medical college important for the division’s future and directed authorities to take measures for its timely and quality completion. Progress on the associated teaching hospital and liver transplant projects will also be reviewed in subsequent meetings.
Another meeting examined the Kachhi Water Supply Scheme. Officials reported that water was being supplied to Bhag Nari, Bakhtiarabad and Tehsil Landhi, although damage to sections of the pipeline was affecting supplies. Noorzai ordered a survey of old and new pipelines and directed officials to ensure water reaches Bhag. Legal action was also ordered against individuals responsible for damaging public infrastructure.
In police administration, DIG Naseerabad Range Kamran Nawaz Panjutha conducted an orderly room to hear departmental matters and employee grievances. One employee faced withholding of one year’s increment, while a show-cause notice was dismissed. Four transfer requests were approved, while inquiries involving four employees remained pending.

Meanwhile, a shutter-down strike was observed in Dera Murad Jamali over inflation, additional electricity and gas bill charges and the petroleum levy.
In a separate development, retired Senator Heman Das Ajwani and Parliamentary Secretary for Interfaith Harmony Sanjay Kumar Panjwani conveyed greetings to the Hindu community on Thadri, emphasizing tolerance and social harmony.
The first Jashn-e-Naseerabad Football Tournament 2026 also continued, with Dera Defenders Football Club defeating Shaheed Abdul Basit Football Club 2-0.
