ISLAMABAD: The mother of an militant of the Fitna al Hindustan identified as Usman publicly disowned her son during a press conference in Turbat, saying neither she nor her family had any connection with his actions or decisions.
Speaking at the Turbat Press Club, she said Usman had left home of his own accord some time ago and had severed ties with the family.
She said he later tried to contact them, but she refused to speak to him.
Usman’s mother said neither she, her husband nor any other family member maintained any relationship with him.
She said Usman alone was responsible for his personal decisions and activities. She added that the family accepted no responsibility for his alleged actions.
She reiterated that the family had no connection with his alleged activities and said she considered it important to make their position clear before the public.
Some commentators said such public disavowals by relatives of alleged militants reflected growing public rejection of militant violence. That assessment represents the commentators’ views.
